Man's body found near his boat at Anne Arundel marina

A 70-year-old Hyattsville man was found dead at an Anne Arundel County marina, police said. About 9 p.m. Wednesday, William Eckert was found in the water near his boat at Holiday Hill Marina in the Edgewater area when a family friend went to check on him. An autopsy is being conducted Thursday to determine Eckert's cause of death. Eckert had a history of medical conditions, so it is possible that he did not drown, police said.
