"I do not want to be in trouble with Michelle. That's why I'm calling you out right in front of everybody."

-- President Obama, explaining that the lipstick smudge on his shirt collar Tuesday night was "a sign of the warmth" he received at an event celebrating Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month at the White House. "I just want everybody to witness," he directed, turning a circle before the laughing crowd in the East Room. Obama originally blamed Jessica Sanchez, the runner-up on last season's "American Idol" competition, who performed at the event, before pointing the finger at her "auntie."

Sanchez told Fox 5 News it was actually her grandma. "My grandma looks so young," she laughed. "But when he said my name first ... I was a little scared."

In the District, the 17-year-old singer is gaining recognition for her patriotic performances: She performed "God Bless America" at the National Memorial Day Concert at the Capitol on Sunday, and sang the national anthem at this year's Easter Egg Roll.
