Katie almost dated Michael!
TV anchor Katie Couric, who hosted "The Today Show" until 2006 and started her own show called "Katie" last year, is usually pretty tight-lipped about her relationships.
But on Wednesday, the seasoned journalist opened up to Howard Stern on his SiriusXM radio show about a couple of celebs that she previously dated. And boy were we surprised to hear some of these names.
First up: Bob Saget, of "Full House" fame.
Katie said that Bob "was fun, he was really fun. I had fun." Was it fun, Katie?
But she didn't think she "did it for him," possibly evidenced by the fact that he never called her after their date, to which Katie said, "That's alright."
Next up: "Survivor" host Jeff Probst.
Of that date, the 56-year-old Katie said, "I think he had puka shells on -- that was kind of a weird thing." And Jeff never called Katie back either. What's with these guys?
But Katie didn't seem too upset about not getting asked out again. "I can't say that I was devastated that neither called me back," she said. "I thought they were both nice guys. ... I don't think there was real magic there with either [of them], but I enjoyed spending time with them."
Katie explained that she thinks "women need to be much more open-minded."
Which brings us to our last one: Michael Jackson!
OK, maybe not that open-minded.
Rabbi Shmuley Boteach, a friend/spiritual adviser of Michael's, tried to set the two up more than a decade ago. "[Shmuley] called me in my office at 'The Today Show.' [He said] 'Katie, I have a question for you, are you seeing anyone?' And I thought, this is so beyond creepy that Rabbi Shmuley is hitting on me. I'm like, 'Rabbi Shmuley, you have like nine kids, what's going on here?' I said, 'Actually, I am [seeing someone].' Because I had a boyfriend at the time. He said, 'Oh, that's a shame. ... Michael said to me, 'That's the kind of girl I would like to go out with ... ' and I said, 'Rabbi Shmuley, that's very flattering, but I am seeing someone ... will you tell him how flattered I am and what a nice compliment that is?' "
"I do regret not having dinner with him," Katie mused. "That would have been insane -- breaking bread with Michael Jackson!"
Could he have been the one that got away? Sadly, we'll never know.
