Karl digs himself a hole insulting Adele, Pippa
Fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld is not one for niceties. Case in point, last year he called Grammy Award-winning singer Adele "a little too fat" and followed that up with an insult about Kate Middleton's sister, Pippa. "I don't like [her] face. She should only show her back," he said. We're sorry, have you looked in a mirror lately?
And now the German designer is throwing salt into those wounds.
In promo clips for CNN's "Fashion: Backstage Pass" posted on the website Fashionista, the 77-year-old Karl reaffirms that he does not care for Pippa's face, telling host Alina Cho, "I think her sister looks better."
And when asked about Adele, Karl says, "Adele [is] another problem. ... I never said that she was fat; I said that she was a little roundish. A little roundish is not fat. But for such a beautiful girl ... after that she lost eight kilo [17.6 pounds], so I think the message was not that bad."
Yeah, it was that bad. How would you like to be made fun of -- we definitely have plenty of ammo considering you admitted that you're in love with your cat and wish you could marry her, not to mention the fact that she has three maids, dines with you and flies on a private jet.
Why don't you just stick to something where you don't have to speak. Oh, we know! How about fashion?
