Pedestrian struck in downtown D.C. dies of injuries

A 53-year-old homeless man who was struck crossing Connecticut Avenue last month in downtown Washington has died, according to D.C. police.

The man, Dereck Audrey, was run over on May 16 when he was crossing Connecticut Avenue at K Street NW. A 2013 Mercedes Benz E35 hit him around 10 p.m.

Audrey died from his injuries on Monday, according to police.

Police still are investigating the case.
