Man tried to lure girls into vehicle in D.C.

District police are looking for a man who tried to lure three girls into his vehicle.

About 8:15 a.m. Monday, a man driving an older model black Honda pulled up to two girls on the 4900 block of Blaine Street NE, offered them money, and asked them to get into his vehicle. The girls refused, and the man pulled up to another girl in the same block, and offered her money to get into his vehicle. All three girls fled and contacted police.

The man is described as a Hispanic male, 30 to 40 years old, short haircut and a tattoo on his wrist with a letter over top of the design. He was seen wearing a blue shirt with white stripes.

The car was an older black Honda with gray interior, with two broken or cracked headlines and a damaged rear door.

Pedestrian struck downtown dies

A 53-year-old homeless man who was struck crossing Connecticut Avenue last month in downtown Washington has died, according to D.C. police.

The man, Dereck Audrey, was run over on May 16 when he was crossing Connecticut Avenue at K Street NW. A 2013 Mercedes Benz E35 hit him around 10 p.m.

Audrey died from his injuries on Monday, according to police.

Police are still investigating.

Man sentenced in armed robbery of senior citizen

A 29-year-old D.C. man was sentenced to more than three years in prison for robbing a senior citizen in Northwest Washington.

Reggie Gordon admitted to accosting a 69-year-old man on the afternoon of Feb. 8 in the area of 14th and Newton streets NW. Gordon pulled a knife and demanded, "Give me the bag, give me the cash."

The victim handed over a bag, which contained cigarettes, and took money out of his pockets and handed it to Gordon.
