It was 10 whole years ago that Lauren Weisberger became a breakout book author thanks to her first novel, "The Devil Wears Prada," a tome that may or may not be about Weisberger's time working for Anna Wintour at Vogue.

Now, she's back with a sequel, "Revenge Wears Prada," which looks at where Andy, Emily and Miranda Priestly are a decade down the road. "I just got curious," Weisberger told Yeas & Nays. "I wanted to check back in with these characters and see what they were doing." (Spoiler alert: Miranda comes back to torment Andy and Emily again).

As part of the Vogue alumni association, we asked Weisberger her thoughts on Washington fashion. "I don't know. I'm really curious about why everytime I talk to someone from D.C. they ask me my opinion on D.C. fashion, why is that?" the author asked. (Because some people say Washingtonians can't dress).

"First of all, I am not familiar with that stereotype at all and I'm sure everybody there looks fantastic," she said. "Nobody ever looks as good as New York, I mean walking down these streets every day, you see these women and it's just out of control ... it's just like ridiculously, gorgeously dressed women on every corner -- it's pretty annoying," said Weisberger.

As for political types, Weisberger is a big fan of first lady Michelle Obama's fashion. "I just think she is one incredibly, smart, cool woman and I love everything she wears and everything she does," she gushed. "I would be very happy to stand behind a rope line and just watch her pick vegetables. I think that would be terrific."

Weisberger also cooed over Hillary Clinton. "I like her so much that I don't really tend to notice what she wears," the author stated. "She's brilliant. I love her daughter. I love her husband. I sort of love the whole thing, so I guess that means I love her pantsuits."

Weisberger will be signing copies of her new book "Revenge Wears Prada" at the W Hotel's POV rooftop bar on Thursday, June 13, at 7 p.m. Those interested in attending must RSVP to Revenge@BrandLinkDCRSVP.com.
