On the Senate floor this afternoon, Sen. Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., boasted about legislation within the immigration reform bill that would secure the southern U.S. border better than any other point in the history of the United States.
“We will finally be able to see every single person crossing our border,” Schumer declared, highlighting the new security funding in the bill. “We’ll know where to send our 21,000 border patrol agents to go catch people.”
Schumer reminded his colleagues that the border was “huge” and that drones would help law enforcement officials dramatically improve security.
“But with the drones we can see every single person who crosses the border day or night, and we can follow their paths so that they can be apprehended when they are 10, 20, 25 miles inland,” Schumer insisted.
