Former New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer, who resigned in 2008 after the New York Times uncovered a history of patronage of high-end prostitutes from the Emperors Club VIP agency, is now running for New York City Comptroller.

When asked about the effect of the scandal on his current political prospects, Spitzer explained to the New York Daily News that his experience was educational.

“Life has peaks and valleys,” he said. “The peaks are more fun, but the valleys are more educational.”
