“Obama rodeo clown” Tuffy Gessling has finally broken his silence about his controversial skit wearing an Obama mask.

Gessling said that since his skit sparked nation-wide controversy, he has received five death threats, as well as threats vowing to run him over and burn his house down.

“I didn’t do this to do any hating on anyone, I did it to be funny, I did it to be a joke,” he explained on Missouri’s KCTV 5, “This clown bit has been around for generations and I didn’t think anything more of it.”

Gessling said that rodeo clowns have done similar sketches with presidents George W. Bush, Bill Clinton, and Ronald Reagan.

When asked by an interviewer if he was a Democrat or a Republican, Gessling only responded, “I am a rodeo clown.”

Gessling also said that he was planning to appear at another rodeo in Jefferson City, Mo. where he would be willing to meet with politicians who still had questions for him.

“If President Obama comes out, I’d be glad to shake his hand.”
