Ongoing tension in Syria might be the biggest news item right now, but don’t tell that to the House of Representatives.
Despite statements by House Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio, and Majority Leader Eric Cantor, R-Va., that they would vote for military action in Syria, the weekly floor schedule today says only that consideration of the measure is “possible.”
Boehner said at the end of August that the House would consider the measure this week, yet the schedule is filled with everything but Syria.
So what will the House be voting on? An FCC bill, a whole bunch of parks and land measures and, of course, Obamacare.
Probably best they delay that Syria vote as long as possible anyway because the whip count isn’t looking too good for supporters.
