Sen. Max Baucus, D-Mont., is walking back his comparison of Obamacare implementation to a “train wreck.”

Speaking with Fox Business’ Stuart Varney, Baucus said that he thought Obamacare would only be a train wreck “if they do not implement it very well,” but that the Obama administration is “doing a pretty good job” in getting the federal exchanges up and running.

“I don’t expect a train wreck,” Baucus said. “I think the train’s going to keep running – not maybe totally on time – but it’s going to be pretty efficient.”

Since Baucus’ original train wreck comments, the Obama administration delayed the employer mandate, which required businesses to provide health insurance if they had more than 50 full-time employees.

Many of the nation's largest labor unions have since also reversed or qualified their previous support of Obamacare and a rapidly growing list of companies like Trader Joe’s have opted to dump health insurance for part-time workers.

Baucus also said that if a vote to delay Obamacare were held today, he would oppose it.
