Ceiling fans sold at Home Depot recalled over blade malfunction

A popular ceiling fan sold at Home Depot is being recalled by the hundreds of thousands after consumers reported that blades spun off while in use.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission posted a notice on Dec. 23 recalling more than 190,000 Hampton Bay 54-inch Mara Indoor/Outdoor fans produced by Fort Lauderdale company King of Fans after it said 47 people had reported blades spinning off while in use.
