BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — U.S. Rep. Kevin Cramer says President Barack Obama has declined his invitation to visit North Dakota.

Cramer sent an invitation to the president last week, touting the state's strong economy and job opportunities as reasons for Obama to make his first presidential visit to North Dakota.

The Republican congressman says Obama declined the offer without explanation, but said he would keep Cramer's request on file.
