Mayor Mark Sokolich of Fort Lee, N.J., reacted on MSNBC on Wednesday night to the recently released emails surrounding the bridge closures that affected his state.

"David Wildstein deserves an a--kicking, OK. Sorry. There, I said it," Sokolich said during an interview with MSNBC's Chris Hayes, referring to the executive at the New Jersey Port Authority who resigned as a result of the scandal.

"How you could intentionally do this to a community that had to endure as much as it has to endure on a daily basis," he lamented.

Sokolich added that he didn't want an apology from Christie for the incident, just a reimbursement check for all the pain that his city had to endure.

"Like I said, don't reach out for me, don't do me any favors, don't reach out for me," Sokolich said, "You need to reach out to the families who were waiting for ambulances taking three times longer to get there. You need to reach out to the thousands of families that couldn't get their kids to school, and you need to reach out to my chief fiscal officer and figure out how much this cost Fort Lee so we could get a reimbursement check from Trenton, that's what I think we need to do. Don't apologize to me, I don't want an apology."
