Remember Sandra "I want free birth control" Fluke, the former Georgetown University law student turned professional victim (well, she actually calls herself an "activist")?

She's running for Congress to replace Rep. Henry Waxman, D-Calif., who's retiring at the end of this year.

The Washington Post reported Tuesday that Fluke has filed papers seeking the endorsement of the California Democratic Party in the race.

Fluke was last seen speaking at the Democratic National Convention in 2012 as the embodiment of the party's campaign to convince voters that Republicans are waging a "war on women." If elected in the safe Democratic district, she's likely to continue Waxman's legacy as a "maker of bad laws," as my colleague Tim Carney put it.

On his blog Legal Insurrection, Cornell University law professor William A. Jacobson notes that "Fluke is the perfect congressional candidate: An obsessive whiner and professional victim who expects government to subsidize everyday expenses, and who is willing to grossly exaggerate to make a political point."

Couldn't have said it better myself.
