Inventor of Internet never expected so many cats

What didn't the inventor of the Internet (no, not Al Gore) expect his invention to be used for? Cats.

To mark the 25th anniversary of the World Wide Web (yes, it's been around that long. Don't you feel old?), Tim Berners-Lee, the man who actually invented it, held a reddit “ask me anything” chat.

When redditor "totharescue" asked Berners-Lee what the Internet is currently being used for that surprised him, the director of the World Wide Web Consortium replied, “Kittens.”

Another redditor, "Oil-of-Vitriol," asked Berners-Lee if he had ever posted a picture of his cat online. Berners-lee replied that he had posted a picture of his dog, but never a cat.

To be fair, I don’t think anyone expected the Internet to be taken over by cats.
