The 25th Annual Legislative Summit kicked off Wednesday morning with Capitol Hill lawmakers addressing the crowd.
Sen. Rob Portman, R-Ohio, took the opportunity to tout his energy efficiency bill. Portman first introduced the bill in 2011 and he expects it to receive a vote on the Senate floor later this week.
Portman said, the bill "makes a lot of sense for economic growth. It makes sense in terms of making America more energy independent. It also makes sense in terms of making the environment cleaner."
The bipartisan bill was first introduced with Sen. Jeanne Shaheen, D-N.H.
