President Obama remained overnight in Minnesota Thursday and will deliver remarks on the economy in the state Friday morning before heading back to Washington. When President Obama returns, he'll meet with acting Veterans Affairs Secretary Sloan Gibson to discuss the ongoing VA situation.

Also returning to the nation's capital today is Secretary of State John Kerry who has been overseas since June 22. Kerry has been working with the Middle East to find a solution to the ongoing violence in Iraq.

Virginia GOP candidate for Senate Ed Gillespie announced his energy plan this week. The Republican candidate calls for more natural gas exploration and offshore drilling, while opposes cap-and-trade regulations.
