Jon Stewart: Palin 'lame streams' on 'Today'

"Daily Show" host Jon Stewart couldn't help making fun of Sarah Palin making good on her promise to "infiltrate" the much maligned "lame stream media" by guest-hosting the "Today" show Tuesday morning —where she disappointed everyone for NOT getting into a cat-fight with Katie Couric, who is guest-hosting on the network this week. On his roundup of the show — where Palin responded to softball questions aboutJessica Simpson's pregnancy weight-gain, Oprah Winfrey's struggling OWN network, and her lukewarm enthusiasm for Mitt Romney - Stewart took a few jabs at Palin for appearing on a network she's often decried, "armed only with Jesus fish earrings and an Iwo Jima-sized flag pin." But he  really took issue with Palin's own view of her appearance.

"Ooooh, infiltrating the Today show!" Stewart exclaimed, going on to say, "I think it means you're cynically exploiting a manufactured notion of yourself as a crusader against a monolithic, exclusionary, activist liberal media — whilst actually enjoying your mutually beneficial symbiotic relationship with them, only to the detriment of the rest of the country."
