1940 Census brings a full house; Virginia churches merge

< p>From examining 1940 Census information to interviewing a bowtie designer, Washington-area websites have had their hands full. Here are some of the latest entries around the region in recent days.

  • Full house: Many 1940 residents of LeDroit Park had lodgers -- including up to 13 people in one house. Left for LeDroit has information about residents from the 1940 Census.
  • Church merge: Two churches in Annandale have agreed to merge. Annandale VA reported that Immanuel United Methodist Church had declining membership and voted to merge with Annandale United Methodist Church.
  • Female fashion: A necktie designer discusses how females can wear bowties. ReadysetDC has a Q and A with Eliot Payne, whose company, Accoutre, will be at ReadysetDC's Fashion District event Thursday.
