Thieves stole an air conditioning unit from a church during the middle of the day on Sunday, and police are asking the public to help identify a person of interest in the case.

The theft took place sometime in the afternoon Sunday at the Calvary Chapel Church, in the 8000 block of New Cut Road in Severn.

Anne Arundel County police have released a photo of a man exiting a gray pickup truck around the time of the theft. Another man is seen sitting in the passenger seat.

Anyone with information about the man or the vehicle is asked to call detectives at (410) 222-6155 or Metro Crime Stoppers 24-hour hotline at 1-866-7LOCKUP. Callers can remain anonymous and are eligible for a reward of up to $2,000.
