Police do not believe that a woman charged in a fatal hit-and-run incident in Fairfax County intentionally ran over the victim.

Gloria McMillan, 32, is charged with felony hit and run in connection with an incident that killed 21-year-old Shelinda Arrington, according to Fairfax County police. McMillan is currently in custody, court records show.

On Friday, McMillan and Arrington were driving on Harrison Lane and then stopped and had a verbal altercation, police spokesman Officer Don Gotthardt said. Afterward, McMillan's sport-utility vehicle ran Arrington over. A child and an adult were in McMillan's SUV during the incident.
