An 8-year-old girl died after being struck by a vehicle driven by her mother in Prince George's County, and four other children were also injured, police said.

The incident took place about 8:45 p.m. in the 2200 block of Hannon Street in Lewisdale. Marianable Cruz-Lopez, 33, accidentally backed her sport-utility vehicle into five children who were playing in the driveway, police said.

The children range in age from 1 to 11 years old, Prince George's County police said. They were taken to a hospital, where 8-year-old Natalie Hernandez-Cruz was pronounced dead.

There are no charges against Cruz-Lopez at this time, and drugs and alcohol were not factors, police said.
