A 5-foot rat snake was found Sunday evening in Baltimore County, officials said.

About 9:30 p.m., officers received a call about an animal complaint in the 1300 block of Taylor Avenue in Towson. Baltimore County police said officers found the snake in a bush.

Police notified animal control. Baltimore County Department of Health spokeswoman Monique Lyle said that animal control retrieved the snake from under a car and that rat snakes are not dangerous.
