Gingrich: I am the more 'consistent' conservative

"Clearly I'm the more conservative candidate by any rational standard," Gingrich said to Sean Hannity last night, celebrating his new-found frontrunner status in the Presidential race.

Gingrich then listed off his credentials:

I helped Ronald Reagan and Jack Kemp develop supply-side economics. I helped lead the effort to defeat communism in the Congress. I helped the Speaker of the House to balance the federal budget for four straight years, Reform welfare as an entitlement, first tax cuts in sixteen years. Take whatever your list of conservatism is, there are places in my career where I have done that stuff and I have been consistent about it. I was for Ronald Reagan long before people began to quote him.
