One of the victims of the Las Vegas mass shooting stood to meet President Trump and first lady Melania Trump, despite the fact he had been shot in the leg on Sunday during the attack.

“I will never lie down when the President of this great country comes to shake my hand!” Thomas Gunderson said in a Facebook post accompanying the video. “There may be plenty of issues in this country but I will always respect my country, my president and my flag. Shot in the leg or not, I will stand to show my President the respect he deserves!”

Trump met with eight families and approximately 100 doctors, nurses, and EMTs, many of whom had been at the hospital for longer than 24-48 hours since the attack, during his visit to Las Vegas on Wednesday, White House press secretary Sarah Sanders told reporters, according to a pool report.

Sanders also retweeted the video of the encounter on Twitter.

The gunman, Stephen Paddock, opened fire from the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay Hotel Sunday night on concertgoers at the Route 91 Harvest country music festival. The attack took the lives of 59, including Paddock, and injured 489, according to the latest estimate from law enforcement.

Paddock was found dead in his hotel room by police after the shooting.

Forty-seven firearms tied to the shooter have been found in three different locations, Jill Snyder, special agent-in-charge of the San Francisco office of the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, announced Tuesday evening.
