For Skins, class is back in session

Wednesday is the first day of school, of sorts, for the Redskins. While training camp begins on Thursday, players first need a day to officially check in with the front office and — in some cases — get poked and prodded by team doctors.

That also gives the team one more day to sign top draft choice Brian Orakpo before camp begins. He is now the lone Redskins draft pick unsigned, an ominous start to camp considering the Redskins believe he can start right away.

Jim Zorn will speak Wednesday, officially revving the engine on the big Redskins machine — where that will take the team this year, remains to be seen. He might want to have a few Jason Campbell answers ready for the media masses descending on Ashburn.

Campbell can quell all that talk with a solid camp. But does anyone really think August will go easy for this organization? Nah. It never does. So players and coaches should enjoy the day. Their next chance to relax is at least six months away.
