BOSTON (AP) — Zdeno Chara scored the tiebreaking goal early in the third period and Tuukka Rask made 24 saves, lifting the Boston Bruins to a 4-2 win over the New York Islanders on Friday night.

Patrice Bergeron, Shawn Thornton and Gregory Campbell also scored for Boston, which improved to 3-0-1.

New York's Keith Aucoin had his first career two-goal game, and has scored three times in two games.

Rick DiPietro, playing his first game since Dec. 3, 2011, after last season was cut short by a groin injury, made 23 saves for the Islanders.

New York (2-2) played the second of five straight on the road after rallying to beat Toronto 7-4 on Thursday night.
