DEARBORN, Mich. (AP) — The Arab American National Museum is teaming up with University of Michigan on an exhibit and symposium related to the recent and ongoing Middle East uprisings.
The Dearborn museum announced this week that it's staging a multimedia companion exhibition to the Ann Arbor university's symposium entitled "Arts of the Middle East Uprisings."
The exhibition of the same name debuts Nov. 8 and runs through Feb. 9, 2014. The collected photos, cartoons, video and audio samples correspond with the Nov. 14-15 gathering of writers, bloggers, photographers, cartoonists and scholars and others at the university's Museum of Art.
The university says the symposium aims to explore how the images serve as visualized forms of dissent while communicating messages and chronicling the upheavals.
