Conn Carroll was born and raised in Oakland, California. He moved to Washington, D.C. in 1996. Since then he has worked for two Members of Congress, a polling firm, a lobbying firm, a media firm, and a congressional campaign before becoming a journalist.

In 2006, Conn covered new media for National Journal's The Hotline, before moving to The Heritage Foundation in 2007 where he created both The Foundry and the Morning Bell. In 2011, Conn joined The Examiner Commentary staff as a senior editorial writer. He resides in Vienna, Virginia with his wife and two children. You can reach him at conncarroll at gmail.com
