Metropolitan police and FBI investigators are searching for a man who robbed a District bank about one mile from the U.S. Capitol building.

The man entered the PNC Bank at 650 Pennsylvania Ave. SE by himself about 2:45 p.m. Wednesday. He verbally demanded money and left after the teller complied.

Police have yet to make an arrest, but security cameras took clear pictures of the man's face. He is believed to stand between 5-foot-10 and 6-foot-2 and to weigh between 180 and 200 pounds. He is a black man with medium complexion and a mustache. He was last seen wearing prescription eyeglasses, a New York Yankees baseball hat, grey pants, a light blue shirt with a dark collar and dark shoes with white bottoms.

Police are warning anyone who recognizes the robber not to approach him because he may be armed. Instead, they say to call the Metropolitan Police Department at 202-727-9099 or text anonymously to 50411.
