More than half a million customers were without power across the shivering Northeast early Thursday, and communties from Illinois to New England are scrounging to refill depleted supplies of road salt with a wary eye on the next winter storm. But that storm, building in the Rockies and moving across the country, may not be as bad as once feared. Weather Channel forecaster Kevin Roth said. "The trifecta of big weather systems is not going to happen, it’s a wild rumor. Instead there are two very small systems, one on Saturday and then maybe one Sunday.”
