Bay County restaurant murals tout Mexican heritage

BAY CITY, Mich. (AP) — Some unique murals are adding to the ambience at a Mexican restaurant in Bangor Township.

The Bay City Times reports ( http://bit.ly/1kXcxfC ) that artist Mike McMath has painted the murals since last fall inside and outside at Coco Loco Mexican Bar and Grill. The murals stress Mexican heritage. Mariachis, dancing and agave fields are among the images.

The Midland father of three owns FauxPlay Decorative Painting. The company specializes in mural painting. McMath, his brother, a niece and a small staff have served clients in Michigan and Chicago.

The 1984 graduate of Midland High School graduated with a fine arts degree from the University of Michigan.
