Vice President Joe Biden today will hit the campaign trail for two incumbent Senate Democrats, attending campaign events for Sen. Claire McCaskill in Missouri and Sen. Maria Cantwell in Washington. Biden also attended an event with Sen. Bob Casey in Pennsylvania last week.
Once a leading supporter of President Obama in 2008, McCaskill faces a tough fight for re-election in Missouri, and announced that she will not attend the Democratic convention in August.
McCaskill insists that she still supports the president, and has even asked him to campaign for her re-election in Missouri, an invitation that the President has yet to accept.
Cantwell, on the other hand, faces a weak Republican opponent and has already raised $4.6 million for her re-election campaign.
