Vice President Joe Biden, during an event in Las Vegas with Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., admitted to voters that he has “a bad habit” of speaking his mind in public.
“I do have a bad habit of saying what I think,” Biden said, according to the pool report. He made the comment in the conext of arguing that Romney is inconsistent and dishonest, but it’s hard not to hear the remark as an allusion to Biden’s various gaffes this election year.
For instance . . .
“How they can justify, how they can justify raising taxes on the middle class that has been buried the last four years?” Biden said at the beginning of October. (Note: No Republican has proposed raising taxes on the middle class.)
“He said in the first 100 days he’s going to let the big banks write their own rules,” Biden said during a Virginia campaign stop while attacking Romney’s economic policy. “Unchain Wall Street! They’re going to put y’all back in chains.”
More comically, Biden offered this commentary on the raid that on Osama bin Laden’s compound. “You can go back 500 years,” he told donors. “You cannot find a more audacious plan.”
