Biden pines for 2016: ‘If I were doing this, I’d do it totally different’

Vice President Joe Biden criticized President Obama’s handling of the 2011 debt ceiling negotiations to House Majority Leader Eric Cantor, R-Va., according to a new book by Bob Woodward.

“You know, if I were doing this, I’d do it totally different,” Woodward quotes Biden as saying to Cantor in his new book, The Price of Politics. ABC News adds that Cantor, per Woodward, replied by criticizing House Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio,by saying, “Well, if I were running the Republican conference, I’d do it totally different.”

The New Republic reported last week that “Biden still wants the presidency,” quoting a Biden adviser saying that “Biden has a special call on a lot of people’s loyalties, starting with the president . . .That’s why you’ve got to take him seriously. And he’s serious.”
