Vice President Joe Biden, in his second fundraising appeal of the week, told supporters that Mitt Romney’s recent fundraising success is “a big problem right now” for his effort to stay in office.

“Election Day will be here in less than four months,” Biden observed in the email yesterday. “And we’re facing a big problem right now that could directly affect the outcome that day. The Romney campaign and the Republicans raised $100 million in the month of June alone, ” he said. “Just wait until they start spending all that money in full force in key states we need to win.”

Biden struck a less dire tone in his debut fundraising message. “Want to have a cup of coffee sometime soon? I’m sure we’ll have a lot to talk about, but mainly I just want to say thanks for helping out,” he said in a Thursday email.
