The veil of secrecy around a recent mission by Vice President Biden has been lifted -- it was finally revealed that the VP will appear on "Parks and Recreation" on Nov. 15.

Back in July, Biden filmed a secret scene in his ceremonial office at the Eisenhower Executive Building. Former Senate colleagues Olympia Snowe, R-Maine, John McCain, R-Ariz. and Barbara Boxer, D-Calif., also appeared on the show in scenes that were shot in D.C. over the summer, but Biden's appearance had to be kept hush-hush because of restrictions on promoting one candidate over another during the election, the New York Times reports.

Biden was a natural pick for the show, as he is the fantasy man of "Parks and Rec" leading lady Leslie Knope, played by Amy Poehler. Poehler told the Times that Biden was "a great improviser" on set. "Leslie kept harassing him, and he took it all in stride."

Biden wrote by email to the Times that it was "a real honor" to meet a character "who believes so deeply in public service."
