Bill Clinton: Movie pitch man?

Self-described "movie nut" Bill Clinton took time to pitch the independent documentary he recently introduced at the Tribeca Film Festival to a room full of entertainment executives at the Creativity Conference sponsored by Microsoft, Time and the Motion Picture Association of America on Friday.

"It's a gripping portrait of how people are dealing with all these identity questions today," he said of the crowd-funded "Bridegroom." Hopefully, HBO CEO Richard Plepler was paying attention, since Harvey Weinstein left the conference early.

Weinstein took time to butter up Time editor Rick Stengel, joking: "I want to get back on that Time 100 list."

That afternoon at Google/Bloomberg's Big Tent conference, technology in the form of mic failure kept some participants from asking questions of Google Chairman Eric Schmidt.

Instead, speaker Omar Hussein, Saudi Arabia's answer to Jon Stewart, made an audience of tired wonks laugh and perk up.
