With another holiday looming, and confusing vacation days ahead, local transit agencies are taking different strategies in providing rides for the New Year’s weekend. Here’s a recap of how to get around in the next few days:
- Metrorail: On Friday and Saturday, Metrorail will begin running at 7 a.m. on both days, slightly later than normal for a Friday. It will close at 3 a.m. as usual.
- Metrobus: Buses are running on a modified schedule Thursday, then a Sunday schedule on Friday, which is a federal holiday.
- MARC: Trains are on regular schedules for Thursday but will not run on Friday.
- VRE: Trains will run on a slimmed down “S” schedule on Thursday (meaning only trains marked with an S on the timetable) and no service on Friday.
Finally, the Tysons Connector will cease running permanently on Thursday.
