MontCo libraries add 230 graphic novels

Bethesda alternative comics convention Small Press Expo is donating 230 copies of 15 graphic novels to the Montgomery County Public Libraries. Currently the library system houses 1,950 graphic novels.

Small Press Expo Executive Director Warren Bernard will formally present the gift to Montgomery County Public Libraries Director Parker Hamilton at 11 a.m. on Sept. 6 at the Rockville Memorial Library.

Libray system staff worked with Bernard to pick out which graphic novels the library wanted, he said. The staff has “a fantastic awareness of the power of graphic novels,” he said, as well as a “deep knowledge of the genre.”
