They said it: Redskins postgame locker room

Rex Grossman

On Fred Davis: “Fred stretches the field vertically as well as any tight end in the league. To have in my opinion two of the best route-running, pass-catching all-around good tight ends with [Chris] Cooley and Fred, you’ll see us in a lot of two tight end situations for the rest of the year.”

On making decisions vs. the blitz: “Sometimes when you bring pressure, you have to pick the right guy quickly. Some of those man-to-man routes, you have to make decisions really fast. Sometimes I did and made some big plays. Other times I took sacks because I chose the wrong side. When that happens, I need to get rid of the football.”

 London Fletcher

On Ryan Kerrigan’s touchdown: “It was a huge momentum swing to come out and finally have a lead against this team. They’re a different team playing from behind. It felt good to play with a lead.”

 Anthony Armstrong

On the feeling around the team: “There’s some little buzz going on around here. I don’t know what it is but it’s something special. I don’t want anyone to pick us the rest of the year.”

On Grossman: “He’s always pretty cool. He never gets flustered. He’s always the same old Rex; calm, cool and collected.”

Will Montgomery

On facing the blitz: “Sometimes they can bring the house. Sometimes they bring three. We were just going to try and protect whatever they threw at us. The theory is [by not blitzing] you have more guys in coverage but sooner or later we’ll find the hole in that coverage. I guess it’s pick your poison.”

Barry Cofield

On facing his old team: “It’s like playing your brother. Even though you love them you want to beat them worse than anyone else in the world. I gave a bunch of guys hugs after the game.  But during the game I can’t measure the level of excitement we had.”

On Chris Neild’s sacks: “I’m so excited for him. You don’t even know if he’s going to make the team and the next thing you know he has two sacks. He’s on a Hall of Fame path right now.”

 Brian Orakpo

On hearing Colin Powell speak to the team before the game: “That was surreal. He talked to us for a few minutes. You couldn’t ask for a better guy to help with the coin toss.”

On his blocked field goal: “After the turnover, they got in field goal range and we just tried everything to stop their momentum. The guys up front did a great job pushing the pocket. I just stuck my hand up.”

On the pass rush: “It’s very contagious. You’re like wolves out there. One guy gets a taste of that deer and everyone wants a piece of it. D-Hall was telling me he was back there chilling because he wasn’t getting any action.”

On Ryan Kerrigan’s touchdown: “Oh, man, that was phenomenal man. I love the way he plays. He has great awareness for a big guy. He made a great play.”

Chris Cooley

On beating the Giants: “It feels so good to beat those guys. We’ve watched film over the past few years and thought that it was always a game we could win. I can’t really express how good it feels to get a win today. They’ve been such a nemesis for us and to finally get that off our backs is huge.”

Santana Moss

On having a comfortable lead late: “I feel like it’s been years since we’ve had that kind of fun out there. I sensed this during training camp, during preseason. We have a different kind of swagger in here. Everybody is confident in here, everybody in here is about the team. We don’t  have any selfish guys and that’s what it’s about.”

Giants safety Antrel Rolle

On his helmet-to-helmet penalty: “I don’t think I lowered my head at all, but the call was made… I don’t think it was helmet-to-helmet. I have never led with my helmet on any tackle and to say that is crazy. There is nothing I can do about it.”
