Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin will be in the Washington area the weekend of the White House Correspondents Association Dinner, but her priority won’t be the celebrity-packed dinner. Instead she’s missing the “nerd prom” again (she’s been invited several times) because she’s slated to speak at a pro-life dinner in Bethesda on April 30 for the faith-based nonprofit Heroic Media. The Texas-based organization “reduces abortion by helping women who face unexpected pregnancies learn hopeful alternatives through mass media advertising,” the group’s Web site says. “Governor Palin will speak about the heroism of motherhood and how to empower women to make the courageous choice for life.”
Tickets to the dinner, which will take place at the Bethesda North Marriott, were originally going for $100, but the price has been upped to $250.
Palin’s people didn’t return a request for comment on whether she would attend events associated with the annual correspondents dinner.
