We all know of diet’s direct effect on reasoning and work performance, so perhaps Michelle Obama needs to bring her healthy eating initiative to President Obama‘s Chicago reelection headquarters, where staffers have been subsisting on caffeine and “more pizza and bad takeout in the past few weeks than anyone should have in a year,” according to Rufus Gifford, National Finance Director for Obama for America, in a post on the Obama Foodarama blog, which noted his email request for a $3 donation (maybe to buy antacids). “No one’s complaining; that’s what we signed up for,” Gifford wrote, but spirits must be pretty low at the office, since he also wrote that “It’s been way too long since we called our moms.”
