BLUFFDALE, Utah (AP) — Construction is set to begin next month on a major master planned community in the southern end of the Salt Lake Valley.
Developers say the Independence at the Point development in Bluffdale is a sign of Utah's rebounding housing market.
Plans call for the construction of more than 1,900 homes in the 294-acre development on the border of Salt Lake and Utah counties.
Project partners told KSL (http://bit.ly/TlK3SM ) they began getting calls about six months ago from homebuilders searching for lots, an indication that Utah's housing market is turning the corner after sluggish growth in recent years.
Bluffdale is a city of more than 7,600 in Salt Lake County.
