D.C. police pulled a body of an adult male from the Anacostia River near the 11th Street Bridge.

About 1:20 p.m. Wednesday, police received a call for a body floating in the river, near the Anacostia Riverwalk Trail. Police found the body of a man near the shore under the bridge.

Police have not identified the body, described as a black male, about 250 pounds, and do not know how long the body was in the water. The D.C. medical examiner will perform an autopsy to determine the cause and manner of death.
