"What I don't understand is, year after year, I get beat out by average-looking people like Brad Pitt or George Clooney."

- Sen. John Boozman, R-Ark., bemoaning the fact that he never makes the cut as People magazine's Sexiest Man Alive. Boozman was presenting People with a 2012 National Angels in Adoption award on Wednesday night. "Seriously, though, the fact that all of you know exactly what I'm referring to shows the impact that the top celebrity weekly, People magazine, has on American pop culture," Boozman said of the laughs he received from his quip. Singer Ne-Yo and actress Katherine Heigl and her husband, Josh Kelley, also received accolades at the dinner.
