< p>BOSTON (AP) — The owner of a travel agency in Boston's Chinatown neighborhood has pleaded not guilty to charges that she stole nearly $90,000 from immigrants she had promised to help secure U.S. citizenship even though they did not meet the English language requirement.

May Woo Lei was arraigned in Suffolk Superior Court on Wednesday on 24 counts of larceny over $250 charges that also stems from allegations that she failed to deliver valid airline tickets to customers who paid her more than $40,000.

The 40-year-old operated Sky Energy Travel Inc. The state attorney general's office says she never filed citizenship applications for 16 victims who paid her nearly $50,000.

Complaints about Woo were forwarded to authorities by the Chinese Progressive Association, a Boston advocacy group.

The woman was released on personal recognizance and ordered not to seek payments for immigration advise.
