LIBERTY, N.Y. (AP) — State police say a 3-year-old boy has died in a fire at a summer bungalow colony in the Catskills.

Troopers say they responded around 10:15 p.m. Sunday to a report of a fire in a bungalow at a colony on state Route 55 in the Sullivan County town of Liberty, 85 miles northwest of New York City.

Troopers were told when they arrived that a 3-year-old boy was trapped inside the burning home. They entered the building, but were forced back by smoke and flames. Local fire departments put out the blaze.

Investigators located the boy's body in a rear bedroom. His name hasn't been released.

A 5-year-old child was treated for burns to his leg and two troopers were treated for smoke inhalation.

The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
